If you mean that you can see an impression of any lettering or texture of the PEI sheet through it then it's probably about right.You will have good bed adhesion.

Suggest.....Print a 50mm square just one layer thick and adjust the 'Z' offset in the slicer plus or minus 0.01mm, whichever...

If you can buy something with a budget of up to 700, there are numerous better alternatives with more desireable features.

Look for features such as corexy and being fully enclosed.

Hot end...

You need to explain a bit more about what you mean by deregulated. Perhaps post a photo.

The Qidi X-CF pro is enclosed and I never open the door until everything has cooled down to ambient temperature.

Magnetic grip seems the same hot or cold.

Could be......

Extruder gears clogged with filament from grinding the filament.
Extruder tension needs increasing but not if it's grinding filament.
Filament route has too much friction or tight...

Sounds like the G-code extrude command 'e' is missing in the start G-code.

When you reinstalled Cura did you copy the original start G-Code from whatever slicer came with...

Started biggish print 250 x 215, Qidi X-CF pro using ASA filament with nozzle temp 255 and bed temp 95, preheated chamber for over 30 minutes.

Print started before lunch on the Friday, left...

Possibilities......

Filament route to extruder not free enough.
Filament trapped under other windings on reel.
Teeth on extruder gunged up with filament particles.

Check nozzle temp in the slicer in case you have accidentaly changed to a lower setting.

Happened to me recently.

You need a short piece of teflon or PTFE tube from the extruder into the hot end to support the filament.

The filament monster is probably because the nozzle has a less than perfect seal to the hot end, causing the molten filament to leak.

I don't know if your hotend is an all metal one with a heat...

Did You adjust the 'Z' offset in the slicer or just the 'Z' height when setting the initial nozzle difference?
